Adult Education

Because you are never too old to learn!!

On Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. (September through May), The Present Word is the curriculum being used which is a beginning to end Bible study series. Teachers and learners come together to reflect on the biblical text and to act on what they discover there. The sessions feature the great celebrations of the Christian church, which rehearse the life of Christ and bring to believers the significant events of that life.

Worship & Church School Opportunities for Children


Opening Worship: 9:30—9:45 a.m.

Children gather in the front pew to begin worship together. They have their own special bulletins, children’s message, and song as part of the opening of worship.

Church School: 9:45—10:45 a.m.

Children in kindergarten thorough 7th grade are invited to attend Sunday School. After sharing a light snack, children participate in a variety of activities each Sunday. Crafts, cooking, games, stories, songs introduce children to the Bible and the concept of a loving God. Children experience Christian friendship and are encouraged to practice Christian values. Children have the opportunity to serve others and support a mission project to help those in need. Children also participate in special presentations and seasonal programs through the year.

Little Lamb’s Bible classes are also available for preschoolers.

Nursery

A nursery for infants to age two is open from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Parents are encouraged to include toddlers in the children’s message and then bring the children to the nursery for the rest of worship.

Art Workshop

Hands-on response to Biblical stories making art projects that promote creativity.

Cooking Workshop

Food and treats are prepared to teach about feasts and festivals of Biblical times. This hands on activities help to reinforce learning.

Story Telling Workshop

A Biblical setting allows kids to feel what Biblical characters felt and role–play decision they will face in their lives.

Games Station

Games become the medium for exploring Biblical stories and apply those stories for today.

Confirmation

Sunday mornings

Confirmation class is provided to the 7th and 8th graders. In Confirmation class confirmands are committed to attending classes, attending worship, doing community service, leading church worship, and developing a strong relationship with an adult congregation member, a mentor.
